Terrain difficulty: Easy-Moderate- going can be heavy in the wet. One small valley to traverse
Ease of navigation: Easy-Moderate- a couple of fiddly footpath signs to spot!
Animal Dangers: Minimal- although you do pass through several farms
RouteFrom the car park head out the main exit and turn right. Follow the main road and take the next right onto the high street. Take the second left onto Bowden Hill opposite the church. At the junction go straight over along Barnfield up to the school.
Just before the school entrance follow the footpath sign down the track to Yeolands. At Yeolands turn right onto and follow this footpath until it meets a road. Turn sharp right to head along the road then first left to follow a bridleway through Beare Farm. Head on past Denbury Farm to a junction with a road. Here to not go out onto the road, instead turn right to follow the footpath uphill. When the footpath meets the road turn right and head downhill to a junction.
Just on the left of this junction is a footpath that winds it's way along the valley floor to Pitt Farm. Along this path you should keep the stream to your left ignoring a couple of unmarked tracks. Turn right for a short sharp stretch up the hill then turn right for the footpath through Hollacombe Farm. Continue on past the farm and head through two fields before turning right to cross the stream. From here head up to meet the road. Cross the road and over on the right is a short footpath that takes you past Jewsmoor Farm and connects with Higher Road. Turn right and head back into Crediton.
Take the first right and head down George Hill turning left along People's Park Road. At the end turn right down deep lane and then left along Belle Parade. Take the first right down church street. Here you can either make you own way through the town if you wish to explore the shops or retrace your steps back to the car park.
