Park in the main village car park. From the car park turn right and head down the road. Take the first right and follow this to the end. Go straight over onto a lane at the crossroads to pick up a bridleway.
When the lane forks follow the bridleway down the left hand fork. The path will fork again take the left hand fork along a bridleway ignoring the footpath on your immediate left. Continue to follow the bridleway ignoring a track then a footpath on the left. The track comes out onto open moorland briefly before heading through a field then back onto open moorland again. Follow the bridleway over to a stone row and another bridleway will merge from the left.
Continue to follow the bridleway for 1 mile as it circles around Cosdon Beacon to your right. At this point a clear well worn path should be obvious on your right leading to Cosdon Beacon ahead of you to the North. Follow this up to the Cairn at Cosdon Beacon and enjoy the well earnt views from here.
Continue to head north down the bridleway path following it for 1.5 miles. At a junction of bridleways at the edge of the moorland, turn right to head back towards South Zeal.
The bridleway turns into a track. At a fork, take the left hand option then the right hand fork at the next split. Follow this up to the road. At a crossroads go straight over then take the next right to follow the Dartmoor Way along the main road in the village. Take the first right to head back to the car park.
