Terrain difficulty: Moderate- uneven coast path
Ease of navigation: Easy-Moderate- easy to follow footpaths
Animal Dangers: Minimal- more likely to fall down the Hooken landslide!

Park in the parking area on the left just before Beer Head Caravan Park. From the car park head left out the entrance to pick up the coast path that initially runs along a track, that is part of the Caravan Park.
Follow the South West Coast Path out to Beer Head and round to the right to head towards Branscombe Mouth. At a fork of paths take the left hand fork to stay on the SWCP along Under Hooken just above the beach. Continue on this path for about a mile to reach Branscombe Mouth. Here take the road inland.
Where the lane forks head down the right hand fork and then almost immediately turn right to follow a footpath along a track. As the path heads up hill ignore a footpath on the right and continue to reach a T-junction. Turn left here and head through the field keeping the boundary to your left. At the next field the path forks. Take the right hand fork and head over the field on a gentle diagonal. Cross into the next field and pass a small stand of trees, this will be to your right. The footpath comes out onto Mare's Lane. Take Mare's Lane back into Beer passing Pecorama Pleasure Gardens & Beer Heights Light Railway.
Where the lane meets the road turn left then shortly right along a footpath between houses. Where this comes out on the road cross straight over and head between the houses again on the footpath. This comes out on Clapp's Lane. Turn right and follow this down to the village and head to the nearest pub for a pint of Beer beer!
Turn right at the end of Clapp's Lane then second right up Common Lane to return to the car park.
