Stepping Out for Buturi - Sidmouth 17th April 2010
Walkers in East Devon are invited to complete one of three walks on 17th April in and around Sidmouth.
The aim is to raise £15,000 needed to help the Buturi Water & School project make a start on building a school in Tanzania. The school will become a real focal point for the community serving as a community centre and library in addition to its core use.
There is a choice of three walks at 5, 10 and 18km. So whatever your ability there is a walk to suit your needs and provide a challenge.
The 5km walk is based in Sidmouth, including a trip along the seafront. As such, it is most suited to those with young families and it is pushchair accessible
The 10km walk across Peak Hill and Salters cross, provides a good afternoon walk that is suitable for most people. Those looking for a proper challenge should tackle the 18km walk which heads out from Peak Hill to Ladram Bay and on along the Otter Estuary through Otterton and back. This is a walk for those that want to stretch themselves and offer people a good reason to get behind you with some sponsor money.
All routes will have Marshalls at key points and full first aid facilities will be available. This will ensure that everyone can have a fun, safe day out with a minimal chance of getting lost!
There is a registration fee of £3 per adult/ £1 per child and entry forms can be found at http://buturiproject.wordpress.com/ along with details of how to enter and full route descriptions.
